Dr. Rajiv Mohan completed his M.B.B.S in 1984 from University College of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and Masters of Surgery in Ophthalmology (JNMC, Belgaum Karnatak University) in 1988. He then worked as a Senior Registrar at Mohan Eye Institute for a year before heading to England to undertake three years of advanced training at East Surrey Hospital, Redhill, U.K. Having trained in Phacoemulsification (stitchless cataract surgery), he has a special interest in vitreo-retinal surgery. He returned to India in 1992 and joined Mohan Eye Institute as a Senior Consultant. He was also appointed as Hony Senior Consultant at Jaipur Golden Hospital until 1999 and Sant Parmanand Hospital till 2002. He is also an examiner for FRCS (Glasgow) and has been awarded FRCS (Glasgow) in 2003 by the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians, Glasgow (Scotland). With a vision to improve and extend ophthalmic healthcare services, he completed his MBA in Healthcare Administration in 2014 from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi (FMS DU).
Dr. Rajiv is the Executive President of NSPB (National Society for the Prevention of Blindness, India) and over the past three decades he has conducted over 300 eye camps in and around Delhi, Yamuna Nagar and Jhajjar in Haryana, Rudraprayag Uttarakhand, and Kullu-Manali Himachal Pradesh. The camps include screening for eye diseases, surgeries and distribution of eye-medicines free of cost.
Dr. Rajiv Mohan was awarded with the Gold Medal in 2006 by the Intraocular Implant and Refractive Society of India. He is named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International and a Melvin Jones Fellow by the Lions Clubs International Foundation for his humanitarian services. He has been awarded for his charitable work by the Jain community in 2009.
